Approval workflows

Route approvals according to clear rules.

Prepare standard cases and report deviations specifically to the responsible person.

Classic approval processes often send every contract across every table. Treasure reviews the contract against the confirmed rule corridor and shows deviations with context, risk assessment and a proposed solution. The approval step in the matter presents them to the designated approvers (four-eyes principle). Automatic routing by amount, risk or clause type: coming soon.

Tasks, responsibilities and approval routing in treasure contracts

In brief

What is an automated contract approval workflow?

An automated contract approval workflow checks contracts against defined rules and only forwards relevant deviations to the responsible person. Standard cases can go through without waiting; Decisions, justifications and times remain in the audit trail.

  • routingApproval steps per matter type with designated approvers; routing by amount, risk or clause type: coming soon.
  • PaceThe playbook traffic light shows what is inside the corridor and what deviates.
  • ProofEvery decision is documented with context and timestamp.

Three principles

How Treasure approvals thinks differently

Smart routing instead of a linear approvalchain - rules decide, not the calendar of those involved.

Corridor logic
Legal confirms rules and approval limits. Treasure shows whether a contract is within this corridor; the matter type defines which step follows.
Context routing · coming soon
Planned: automatic routing depending on the deviating clause, e.g. data protection to the DPO, price to the CFO, liability to Legal. Today you designate the approvers in the matter; they see findings, risk rating and suggestion directly on the contract.
Parallel approvals
Several approvers decide at the same time, not one after the other. As soon as everyone has approved, the contract is concluded. Every decision ends up in audit trail.

How Treasure determines the approval path

Four comprehensible steps for checking, routing and decision-making.

Step 1 of 4
Contract is reviewed
Treasure checks the contract against your approved rules. Result: one risk rating per clause — the basis for every routing decision.

Step 2 of 4
Corridor decision
Treasure ranks the contract based on the confirmed corridor. Deviations go to the designated approvers in the approval step; automatic routing by clause type: coming soon.

Step 3 of 4
Parallel notification
Everyone responsible is notified at the same time - with context: which clause, which deviation, which risk, which proposed solution. Decide instead of reading.

Step 4 of 4
Decision documented
Every approval decision is logged with a time stamp, person, reason and final clause text. The audit trail can be exported as CSV.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Doesn't Legal lose control with this?
Legal confirms the rule and approval corridor. Treasure shows deviations, documents the standard applied and presents the contract to the designated approvers in the approval step.
What happens to contracts outside the corridor?
They are escalated in a targeted manner: the person responsible receives the specific deviation, the risk rating and a suggestion based on the confirmed rules. The decision remains with the person and is documented in the audit trail.
Do our salespeople have to learn a new tool for this?
No. Quotes from HubSpot trigger the review, and the review result is reported back to the deal. Approvers are notified by email or Slack and decide via link; Teams notifications: coming soon. Sales does not have to learn a new tool — that is the principle of Invisible CLM.
