In short

What is CLM software?

CLM software (contract lifecycle management software) manages contracts from drafting through review, approval and signature to storage and search. Treasure Contracts is an AI CLM platform from Germany: matters move through defined steps, AI reviews each contract against your playbook, templates and a clause library produce drafts, and PAdES e-signatures close the loop — hosted on AWS in Frankfurt.

Key facts

  • Matter types with steps for documents, review, document generation, approval and signature
  • Audit trail across documents, matters, chats, playbooks, approvals and logins, exportable as CSV
  • Proof Sprint in 10 working days; first contract process live within 30 days after a successful sprint, provided access and approvals are in place on time

The problem

What to check before choosing CLM software.

CLM selection usually comes down to four questions: how long the rollout takes, whether the team will use it, where AI fits in and what it costs.

Time to first productive use

Ask how long requirements workshops, data migration and configuration take before the first contract runs through the system, while the backlog keeps growing.

A repository that stays current

If contract data has to be typed into forms, fields tend to go stale and the register loses trust. Check how data is captured.

Where AI sits in the process

Ask whether AI review applies your company's positions or produces generic summaries, and whether it is part of the core process or a separate module.

Hosting and pricing

Where is the data processed? What will it cost after year one? Ask each vendor for written answers before procurement and data protection review.

Your outcome

One process, one audit trail, one clear starting point.

A good CLM platform earns its place in the first process, not after the full rollout.

Your outcome

Contracts move from intake to signature in one matter, with AI review against your rules, approvals by named approvers and a record of every decision in the audit trail.

Why it works

You start with the contract types that cause the most waiting today. The Proof Sprint measures a baseline and ends with formal acceptance by your legal team.

How fast

Two contract types run live within the ten-day Proof Sprint. The first productive process follows within 30 days after a successful sprint, provided access and approvals are in place on time.

How little effort

No big-bang migration. Contracts are uploaded by drag and drop, as folders or by email; OCR, classification and data extraction run automatically.

Features

Contract lifecycle stages in Treasure Contracts

Every stage below is live in the product today.

Intake and repository

Upload PDF, Word and email files up to 50 MB each and 100 files at a time. OCR, document-type classification and extraction of parties, term, value, governing law and termination provisions run automatically.

Drafting with templates and clauses

Variables in your templates are detected by AI, drafts are generated via questionnaire, and approved clauses come live from the clause library, including rule-based clause selection from matter data.

AI review against your playbook

Each contract is checked against your criteria with a traffic light per criterion, general risks, contradictions and deviations from your reference template, plus compliant wording suggestions.

Versions, redlines and approvals

Immutable versions, side-by-side redline comparison and approval steps with a four-eyes principle keep every change and decision traceable. Approval costs €190/month and is included from Business.

E-signature

PAdES signatures with sequential or parallel signers, an RFC 3161 timestamp with verification and an audit certificate. Signed PDFs are locked. Signature costs €400/month and is included from Business.

Search, chat and dashboard

Hybrid full-text and semantic search, chat with verbatim citations across selected contracts, and a dashboard showing open matters, pending reviews and critical findings.

How it works

How a CLM rollout with Treasure runs

  1. Demo on your own contract

30 minutes with the founders, Treasure live on your clauses. No slides, response within 24 hours.

  2. Pick the first process

We choose the two contract types that create the most waiting and derive a playbook from 10–20 historical contracts.

  3. Proof Sprint

Ten working days with live testing, risk rating, redlines, audit trail, acceptance by legal, ROI evaluation and a 30-day plan.

  4. Go live and expand

The first process goes live within 30 days of a successful sprint, provided access and approvals are in place on time. Drafting, approvals, signature and further contract types follow step by step.

In detail

CLM software in 2026: what has changed with AI

From managing contracts to deciding on them

Many CLM tools focus on organising contracts: a central repository, metadata forms and workflow routing. That addresses storage, but the capacity problem remains as long as a lawyer has to read every contract. AI changes where a CLM platform creates value. Treasure Contracts turns your legal team's review rules into a playbook and applies it to every contract that enters a matter, so the lifecycle no longer stalls at the review step.

Why the lifecycle should be organised around matters

In Treasure, each contract lives in a matter with a defined type and steps: documents, review, document generation, approval and signature. Workspaces group matters by team or business unit. This structure keeps context together — earlier versions, review results, approvals and signed PDFs — and it makes the audit trail meaningful, because every event is tied to the matter it belongs to rather than scattered across inboxes. The dashboard shows open matters, pending reviews and critical findings for each team.

Adoption beats feature lists

Usage matters as much as features. Treasure lowers the entry barrier: contracts can be forwarded by email to a dedicated address that routes them to the right playbook, HubSpot quotes can trigger reviews, and Slack notifications bring results to where teams already work. Through the MCP server (AI tool integration, €50/month, included from Professional), users can even work with Treasure from within ChatGPT or Claude. The easier it is to hand a contract over, the more contracts actually run through the process.

European hosting and transparent cost

For companies in the EU, a CLM platform holds some of the most sensitive data in the business. Treasure runs on AWS in Frankfurt, processes AI in EU regions and never trains on customer data; information security is ISO 27001 certified. Pricing is public: Starter €590, Professional €1,790 and Business €3,590 per month, billed annually, net. Approval (€190/month) and Signature (€400/month) are included from Business. The €4,900 Proof Sprint is credited in full when you book within 30 days.

FAQ

FAQ

What does CLM software from Treasure Contracts cost?

Pricing is public: Starter €590, Professional €1,790 and Business €3,590 per month, billed annually, net; Enterprise on request. Approval (€190/month) and Signature (€400/month) are included from Business. You can start with a free demo on their own contract or the 10-day Proof Sprint for €4,900, which is credited towards implementation when booked within 30 days.

How long does a CLM implementation take?

The Proof Sprint takes ten working days and puts two contract types live. After a successful sprint, the first contract process goes into production within 30 days, provided access and approvals are available on time. Further contract types, teams and lifecycle steps are added step by step.

Do we have to migrate all existing contracts first?

No. Start with the contracts you need for the first process. Uploads work by drag and drop, as whole folders or as emails with attachments. OCR, classification and extraction of key contract data run automatically, so there is no manual data entry project.

Is the CLM platform GDPR-compliant?

Treasure Contracts is hosted on AWS in Frankfurt, AI runs in EU regions, and your data is never used for training. Tenant separation at database schema level, a role and permission model, two-factor authentication, Microsoft Entra ID SSO and an exportable audit trail are included. Information security is ISO 27001 certified.

Why use a CLM platform instead of ChatGPT or Claude?

A chat assistant can explain a clause; versions, approvals, signatures and a per-contract audit trail like Treasure's are not part of a general chat, and its standard depends on the prompt. Treasure applies your approved playbook to every contract and records each step. Via MCP (AI tool integration, €50/month, included from Professional), you can still use Treasure from ChatGPT or Claude.

What if the platform does not work for us?

The subscription includes a four-week unconditional right of withdrawal with a full refund. For the Proof Sprint, a results guarantee applies: if the agreed acceptance criteria are not met, we work up to 20 additional working days at no cost and otherwise refund the sprint price.

Bring your next contract.

In 30 minutes you will know whether Treasure can apply your rules — on a real contract, with the founders.
